Terms of Service
Last updated: April 20, 2026
Welcome to Salario ("Salario", "we", "our", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of salario.io and the calculators, articles, and compensation resources offered on the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Salario. We may update them from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If the changes are material, we will highlight them on this page for at least 30 days.
2. Description of Service
Salario provides free, web-based salary and compensation calculators, cost-of-living comparisons, negotiation benchmarks, and educational reference material covering U.S. wage data. Tools include salary-to-hourly conversion, net pay estimation, cost-of-living adjustments across cities, raise percentage calculation, freelance and contract rate conversion, commission, and other compensation topics. The Site is an informational resource and is not a payroll, tax filing, or employment verification service.
3. Not Financial, Legal, or Employment Advice
Salario is not a CPA firm, employment attorney, financial advisor, payroll processor, HR consultant, or any other kind of licensed professional adviser. Nothing on this Site constitutes financial, tax, legal, employment, or investment advice. All content — including calculator results, articles, guides, and statistics — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
Compensation decisions, job offers, raise negotiations, relocation choices, and similar are highly dependent on individual circumstances, employer policies, industry norms, local labor markets, and legal constraints. Before making any decision with financial or employment consequences, consult a qualified professional.
4. Calculator Accuracy and Limitations
Salario uses current U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) wage data, IRS tax brackets, FICA rates, commonly applicable formulas, and region-specific cost-of-living indexes. However, calculator results are estimates, not determinations of actual take-home pay, market value, or guaranteed outcomes. Results may differ from reality for reasons including but not limited to:
- State and local taxes not fully modeled, or modeled with simplified rules
- Employer-specific benefits, pre-tax deductions, and contribution elections
- Regional wage premiums, union agreements, and industry-specific compensation structures
- Changes in tax law, contribution limits, or inflation adjustments issued after publication
- Individual circumstances not captured by the calculator's inputs
You are responsible for verifying any numbers against your actual pay stubs, employment offer, or professional adviser before relying on them. Salario makes no warranty that calculator results are complete, accurate, or current.
5. Permitted Use
You may use Salario only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Site in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the Site, its servers, or its infrastructure.
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically copy content from the Site without written permission.
- Use automated scripts to generate load or circumvent rate limiting.
- Reverse-engineer calculator logic or re-publish it as your own service.
- Use the Site to transmit malware, spam, or any harmful content.
- Misrepresent calculator results as official employer-issued compensation statements.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on Salario — including text, calculators, logos, page layouts, article series, methodology explanations, data compilations, and design elements — is the property of Salario or its content contributors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may view, print, and share individual pages for personal, non-commercial use, and you may link to the Site from your own website or social media. You may not reproduce, redistribute, republish, sublicense, or create derivative works from Salario content without our prior written consent.

The Site contains advertising served by third parties (including Google AdSense and other ad networks), as well as references and links to third-party websites such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS.gov), the IRS, state labor departments, and related publications. Salario does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites or advertisers. Inclusion of an advertisement or link is not an endorsement.
8. Disclaimers

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SALARIO AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST WAGES, DECLINED JOB OFFERS, MISSED OPPORTUNITIES, OR PROFESSIONAL FEES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SITE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Salario, its operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any right of another party.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
12. Termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, indemnities, and limitations of liability — will survive.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Salario is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
14. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies posted on the Site, constitute the entire agreement between you and Salario regarding the Site and supersede all prior agreements.
